Monferrato Rosso Marchesi di Grésy 2019 DOC Piemonte, Italy

An impressive and fine, mature 100% Merlot from the iconic Marchesi di Grésy estate. Produced from Merlot fruit, grown on their Monte Colombo vineyard in the Monferrato hills. It sees 12 months in Allier barriques, followed by 24 months in Slavonian oak casks bringing depth and character, but the vibrancy of the Merlot delivers first. Fresh and aromatic with damsons, plums and red cherries, together with ripe tannins and a hint of spice - leading to a fine, long and structured finish.
